  1. Awesome. Congratulations, Pete.

In my not-so-copious spare time, I played a little Ravnica sealed online. The new set’s a blast. :)

  2. Somehow I totally missed that Two-Headed Giant became a sanctioned format. That’s a heck of a first, idn’t it?

  3. Yes. They tried it out at GenCon, at really rolled it out at the Ravnica prerelease. This is the second “big” worldwide event. TOs can sanction it now, but it doesn’t look like many are.

    It’s a fun format, though.

  4. I wanna see the silent team signals that Pro Tour types develop. I would imagine that running out of time would be a problem in the game, and it’d be harder to make a case for intentional stalling. Am I wrong? :)

  5. Talking with your teammate is fully allowed, and you share all information. It’s really just one game, just with two decks, two hands, and twice as many people making decisions.

Matches are only 1 game, since they take so long. We managed to finish all of our matches, so it wasn’t so bad.

  6. Only one game? That fixes the problem handily, I should think!

But you just *know* the pros are going to come up with secret codes so that they don’t give anything away. Is this just limited, or does it include constructed?

  7. Maybe when/if there’s a 2HG Pro Tour :) (Which seems not likely, but there’s a Legacy GP this weekend, so you never know.)

The big events, at the prerelease and this weekend, were limited. Constructed is sanctionable. The Tournament Locator shows a store in Westboro running a 2HG Constructed event every Friday.

2HG Constructed uses the “Unified Deck Constructed” rules, meaning that you can’t have more than 4-of-a-card between both your decks. (Regular team constructed, where matches are one-on-one but tournament ranking is team-based, also uses this rule. There a PT for Team Constructed this year, which should be interesting.)
