Random Post

I feel like it’s been a while since my last post, and I want to post something, but I’m not sure what. So, random disconnected thoughts follow.

I’m judging at Magic’s Grand Prix Boston this weekend (and I got confirmation today that I will in fact be judging this event). I’m very excited.

Hopefully, we’ll be meeting with our builder next week to go over the house project and put together a contract, or at the very least start the building permit application.

I left the apartment this morning to discover that there was a car sitting in the driveway blocking my car’s exit. Apparently, there are 6 cars trying to fit into 5 slots. Somebody doesn’t belong there.

I think I’ve made a sudden realization of something big about the universe and our party in the RPG we play Monday nights that runs. However, I’m not sure whether my character would realize it.

Jessi is in class until 7:30, and I’m getting hungry. I’m going to see if I can scrounge something up.

  1. Ooooo! Tell me! And feel free to have your character realize such things, especially if they generate interesting conversations and such. As long as you’re using only in character knowledge. I generally run with the idea that if you can figure it out using only in character knowledge, your character can figure it out. If you need out of characer knowledge to figure it out, your character doesn’t know enough yet to figure it out. That’s why I try to keep my players’ knowledge about the game and world limited to only what their characters know, but it’s hard sometimes to give information to some players and not to the rest.

  2. Hypothesis:
We all are… or maybe were… someone else.

    In-game knowledge supporting this:
    Syl’s character has two personalities.
I have vague memories of living elsewhere.
People know ancient languages that they don’t know that they know.

    Out-of-game knowledge supporting this:
I think that Syl’s character has the high “Connection” stat, feeling a connection to “something”. But I may be remembering wrong.
And the game is named “The Return”, you said. That could mean that we are returning from somewhere.
